unfortunately i no longer have access to a woodwop 5 installation, i'm using 7.1 and i know the files have changed. do you have even an OLD backup to at least pull the files from, despite them being completely out of date?

more info please? new issue, new (to you) machine? did it work recently? seems like your tool database got deleted, do you have a recent backup?

The 'free' upgrade to windows 10 officially ended years ago however i'm guessing you are aware there is a loophole. on that note, i would NOT suggest doing an upgrade on your machine. i just had a lengthy discussion with stiles (us homag) and they have had issues even doing all the security updates to 7 on the machine pc.

i tried to downgrade them for you but functionality is lost.

bastler nailed it!

layer name isn't there. i'll see if i can persuade one of my drafters to do a little side job. no promises though.

This is where I hit a wall without AutoCAD (and an AutoCAD person to do it). The layer name is what is getting you. The layer name of the contour you want to import MUST be named properly or the import app won't 'see' it. The layer name has to be Poly_<depth>NM<name> so I use Poly_2NM1234 and it will create a contour 2mm deep named 1234.ply. If you want to make a little sense of it the following helps.

I agree about the AutoCAD thoughts, to do anything REAL with WoodWOP you NEED it, and I also don't have it so am forced to do all my work in WoodWOP. Other software is so much easier but Homag post processors are not so easy to work with and their compatibility with something as simple as importing contours is horrible. There are a TON of bugs in every version of software I've used for the last six years, and NO outlet at all to seek help or even report them. I'm pretty certain any bugs you have with 7.1 would still be present in 7.2.

https://convertio.co/jpg-dxf/ it's always worked well for me.

I'm pretty sure that's a spam post.

DXF import. it's the only way i've found to do it. you can use a lot of free online tools to convert graphics to dxf outlines and use the DXF import (if you have autocad to correctly name the layer) and it will auto create a PLY file. from there you can do with it what you wish in woodwop.

You have to first install the license server application. It uses that to check and verify your trial usage.

Why would you think Homag would give away something they charge money for? I'm pretty certain they'd be happy to sell you an upgrade.

Have you tried adjusting your ramp speed/percentage?

I would not be shocked to find out it's software. I do blocks of horizontal spiral holes and despite being programmed properly they don't locate properly. Consistent, but incorrect.

plus, the diameter of the blade and tooth count factor in as well.

woodwop aka homag's g-code is unique to say the least. you'd need a post processor specific for your machine for solidworks to generate g-code that will run on the homag.

You will get no reply (I'd bet my wallet on it)…
This is a BOT post like SO many others on this forum. The "references" links at the end are a giveaway. The BOT just spams forums with posts taken from other forums to get page hits to the links.
The three posts (typically three, not sure why) in a short time all as a new user are a sign.

'jack' isn't a person, it's a bot. the links at the end give it away.

Under EXTRAS / Overwrite template values. The 'box' you currently have selected will be the one you're 'saving'. (variables/nc options/milling/etc.)
